Today we talked about using the standard deviation:  unusual values, the range rule of thumb, and the Empirical Rule.

Today we talked about measures of spread, including the range and the standard deviation.

The homework is:

• Chapter 2:  15 - 20 (all)

After you feel comfortable using the formula, you may use your TI-83/84 calculator to find the standard deviation.  There are videos on this website demonstrating how to do this.

There will be a quiz on Friday on which I will ask you to compute the standard deviation of a data set using the formula.
